Metastability release of the form [alpha] of trehalose by isothermal solid state vitrification
Article Abstract:
Kinetic investigations of the polymorphic form [alpha] of anhydrous trehalose were conducted below its apparent melting temperature ([T.sub.m]) by different scanning calorimetry (DSC) and X-ray diffraction. The findings revealed a spontaneous isothermal vitrification process, which indicates that the phase [alpha] was in a very unusual superheating situation.

How do trehalose, maltose, and sucrose influence some structural and dynamical properties of lysozyme? Insight from molecular dynamics simulations
Article Abstract:
The study results related the influence of three well-known disaccharides, namely, trehalose, maltose, and sucrose on structural and dynamical properties of lysozyme reveal that the effects of sugars on proteins are correlated to the fractional solvent accessibilities of lysozyme residues.
